Happy Tuesday! Attached is your monthly newsletter with several upcoming dates and events, including our Boosterthon Fun Run and AgVenture Evening. Don’t forget to RSVP for our AgVenture Evening so we have enough food and supplies.
For our AgVenture class today 4k was able to be introduced to our animals and learn all about chickens and their care. We also learned about composting and had a great conversation about what might be in the tiny egg!
Lexington Two uses the I Love U Guys Standard Response Protocols for security and medical events. :Families received an email from the district in early August explaining these protocols. However, you don't need much time to get the overview -- watch this video of students titled: "5 Minutes, 5 Actions: The Standard Response Protocol (SRP)" in English language and Spanish language.

Mark your calendars! Lexington Two's annual Transition Fair is set for September 15. Agencies from across the state will be in attendance to provide information for parents of students with exceptional needs. The event is 5:30-7 p.m. at our district office. Pizza will be provided.

Lexington School District Two students posted gains in several core subject areas in statewide SC READY testing results released this week by the SC Department of Education, achieving test scores at the highest level in more than five years. Lexington Two elementary and middle school test takers’ gains outpaced those of statewide test takers in several areas: fourth- and fifth-graders outpaced statewide test takers in English/Language Arts; fourth-, fifth-, sixth- and eighth-graders outpaced statewide testers in math; and all test takers outpaced statewide in science. In addition, among tested Lexington Two students, 24 achieved maximum scores in the most recent testing, the largest number in recent years. Read more about the results by clicking this link.
Students enrolled in Lexington School District Two have free access to the Comet bus system. Students must present their school-issued ID card to the driver for free rides to any location within the bus system seven days a week. Routes and other information at https://catchthecometsc.gov/
Enroll your child today and get ready for the first day of classes on August 5! Families can stop by the district office or their child's school (week of July 28, Monday-Friday during business hours), or enroll online by clicking this link. A photo ID and two proofs of residency are required. (If you do not have proof of residence, or if you have another special circumstance, call Student Services at 803-739-3141). We can't wait to see your child for the start of the new school year on August 5.
The Board of Trustees will meet September 17 for its next monthly meeting at 6 p.m. at the Lexington Two Performing Arts Center.
