New Faces at Springdale Elementary!

Arielle Morton
Ms. Arielle Morton, Special Services
Hello, my name is Arielle C. Morton. I am a new Special Services teacher at Springdale Elementary. I am 27 years old and this will be the beginning of my sixth year teaching. I have taught in Richland 1 and Spartanburg 7. I taught middle school resource and inclusion during my tenure in these districts. I received my bachelor's degree from Lander University in special education. In December 2018, I received a master's degree in classroom leadership. I enjoy reading, spending time with family and taking trips to the beach. I enjoy teaching and look forward to a successful school year. 

 

Ratterree

Ms. Mertha Ratterree, Academic Support
My name is Mertha Ratterree.  I retired from teaching on January 1, 2019 after teaching for 37 1/2 years in South Carolina and two years in North Carolina.  This past year, I returned to teaching at Wood Elementary School.  Most of my teaching career has been in the area of teaching reading and math to middle school students with learning disabilities.  I have a Masters degree in education plus 30 hours in Learning Disabilities.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing tennis, exercising, cheering on the USC Gamecocks in football, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Smith
Mrs. Patty Smith, 5K Assistant
My name is Patty Smith and I'm from Conyers, GA.  My husband, Greg, and I moved to Lexington in October 2019.  We have two adult children.  Michael graduated from Mercer University and works for the University of Georgia.  Mallory attends Johnson University in Knoxville, TN and plays softball.  I earned an Associate degree in office administration from Georgia State University.  This will be my fourteenth year working with elementary students.  I am so excited to work with Mrs. Poovey in 5K!  I enjoy watching sports, walking, and family time on Lake Oconee.

 

Additionally, Ms. Keaton will be teaching first grade (moving from second) and Mrs. Bullard will be teaching fourth grade (moving from fifth).  We are all looking forward to a great year at Springdale!
